Broderie d’or

Glitter & Gogh: Étude of the Starry Night  (10h)

avec Nathalie Dupuis

Inspired by the swirling sky of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting, this intermediate level design explores various couching methods over gilt and cotton threads, the application of gold leaf, and the wrapping of pearl purl mixed with some basic embroidery stitches. Glittering metal threads couched with Van Gogh’s preference of complementary colours creates a vibrant feel with the soft curves of a night sky punctuated with bright stars.
