Matters of Self-expression
Trained in traditional art embroidery techniques and textile ornamentation, I work entirely by hand, privileging slowness, precision, and the richness of materials. Gold and silk threads, beads, ribbons, antique lace, and textiles imbued with history form a sensitive vocabulary that I reinterpret through a contemporary approach.
My universe unfolds like a sensory landscape, where the richness of materials and the precision of embroidery create a sense of wonder. It is a space where emotions, nature, and material meet, establishing an atmosphere of mystery and beauty, where evocation takes precedence over explanation.
My practice is rooted in a search for meaning: understanding how lived experiences shape both body and mind, and how art can become a space for reconciliation and balance.
In an era marked by constant acceleration, overstimulation, and the fragility of human connections, my work proposes a space for contemplation and introspection.
Biography
I am a Canadian textile artist of Chilean origin. Having grown up in Montreal and lived several years in Europe, my path has cultivated a deeply multicultural sensibility that permeates my practice.
I graduated from the Centre for Contemporary Textiles of Montreal in 2014. I later refined my training in art embroidery at prestigious institutions such as École Lesage in Paris and the Royal School of Needlework in London, as well as in specialized goldwork embroidery workshops in Madrid and Seville.
My work exists at the intersection of craft and visual arts. I have notably collaborated with Cirque du Soleil, Disney, and the Grands Ballets Canadiens. I also create custom pieces for a variety of projects, including Quebec fashion brands, film productions, reproductions of historical works, as well as commissions for private clients.
In 2019, I founded Studio Textile Montréal, a studio dedicated to creation and professional training in art embroidery, continuing my commitment to the transmission and promotion of these savoir-faire.
